The Indiana Pacers do not have a lot of bad contracts on the team, rendering the amnesty clause expected to be in the NBA’s upcoming Collective Bargaining Agreement all but useless (if the two sides are even able to come to an agreement, that is). The likeliest candidates if they do use it, however, include Dahntay Jones and James Posey. The most likely options for each team’s amnesty clause were broken down by ESPN basketball experts Marc Stein and Chad Ford on Monday morning

There are good reasons to criticize, or at least question, the career of Isiah Thomas after he took off his Detroit Pistons playing uniform for the final time. Zeke got off to a decent start coaching the Indiana Pacers, but then by all accounts he screwed up the developmental Continental Basketball Association, and the New York Knicks still are trying to recover from his horrific stint as coach/general manager. The late Bill Davidson, when he was the Pistons owner, may have displayed some keen insight on eschewing Isiah, even though Joe Dumars has engaged in a few follies of his own, starting with the drafting of Darko Milicec and the trade of Chauncey Billus for Allen Iverson(notes), which was the start of the team’s demise from the excellence of the of the mid to late 2000s

As we sit here in late October, and with the Indianapolis Colts floundering , it’s hard to imagine a cold Hoosier winter without cozying up to the tube for some competitive professional basketball courtesy of the Indiana Pacers.
