The once starting point guard for the Indiana Pacers is looking to get back to the NBA. And if that means working his way up from the D-League to get there, that’s what he’s planning to do. From Yahoo Sports: “Jamaal Tinlsey hopes to return to the NBA, and he wants to use the Development League to help his efforts. Tinsley has sent in the needed paperwork to enter Thursday’s NBA Development League draft, sources told Yahoo! Sports. Tinsley, 33, averaged 9.8 points and 6.6 assists per game through eight NBA seasons while starting 366 of 436 career regular-season games. He last played in the NBA with the Memphis Grizzlies during the 2009-10 season. The deadline to enter the D-League draft is Tuesday. The Los Angeles D-Fenders have the first pick in Thursday’s draft. Top pick candidates include former NBA center Jamal Sampson, former Villanova forward Curtis Sumpter, former DePaul forward Mac Koshawl, former Dayton forward Chris Wright and former Texas A&M-Corpus Christi center Chris Daniels. Roy Hibbert is the latest NBA player to gain an acting role, as he is set to appear on the hit comedy show “Parks and Recreation”. Reports the Indy Star: “The NBA lockout has given Indiana Pacers center Roy Hibbert time to work on a possible second career. The always-animated Hibbert will make his acting debut Thursday when he has a cameo appearance on the NBC show ‘Parks and Recreation,’ which stars Amy Poehler. | Judge may throw out lawsuit against Indiana Pacers… | |
A judge announced Thursday that she might throw out key portions of a lawsuit against Indiana Pacers owner Herb Simon and his wife. A former nanny is suing the Simons because she claims she was fired because she became pregnant. The judge said yesterday that she didn’t believe much of the nanny’s testimony. She also said she doubted the testimony of a chauffeur who joined in the lawsuit. The judge could make her decision sometime Thursday or Friday. Subscribe to our feed!. Special to ESPNChicago.com Archive INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana Pacers point guard Darren Collison, who sprained his left ankle in the second quarter of Monday’s game against the Chicago Bulls, remains optimistic he can play on Thursday in Game 3. Collison was dressed for Wednesday’s practice but did not participate in live action. “Right now it’s feeling better than [Tuesday], so I expect tomorrow it should be feeling even better,” Collison said. Although the official team prognosis for Collison is “day to day,” Vogel said he considers him doubtful for Thursday’s game and is preparing to start A.J. Price and play T.J. Ford off the bench. “We’re hoping for the best, but we’re listing him as doubtful,” Vogel said. “He’s still very sore. | Pacers return home down 2-0 vs. Bulls | |
INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Pacers are close to having a 2-0 lead against the Chicago Bulls. And now they could be short-handed going into Game 3 on Thursday night. Interim coach Frank Vogel said point guard Darren Collison is doubtful after spraining his left ankle in the second quarter of Game 2. Collison insists he’ll play. The top-seeded Bulls have rallied from double-digit deficits in both first-round games. They could push the Pacers to the brink of elimination with a win on Thursday. Chicago guard Derrick Rose averaged 37.5 points, seven rebounds and six assists in the first two games. Chicago also had a 49-34 rebounding advantage in Game 1 and a 57-33 edge in Game 2.
