Blazers’ Przybilla returning soon

The Portland Trail Blazers are a little short at center right now with both Greg Oden and Joel Przybilla recovering from knee surgeries, but the word from the Portland Tribune is that the 7-1 Przybilla should be back in early November.

West regrets Drew Gooden selection in 2002 draft

Jerry West, the man whose silhouette inspired the NBA logo, spent five years as the president of basketball operations for the Memphis Grizzlies , and there is one move he made in those days that he’d do differently.   West, 72, tells the Memphis Commercial Appeal that he probably would have made a different choice in the 2002 NBA Draft if he could do it all over again. As it was, the Grizzlies selected 6-10 forward Drew Gooden , who is now with the Milwaukee Bucks and averaged 14.5 points and 4.3 rebounds per game last year
